Overview

CareerOS AI is an AI-supported career assistant. It helps users manage job opportunities, HR messages, CV preparation, interview practice, career documents, and subscription-gated AI workflows.

Information we collect and how we collect it

We collect information you provide directly when you create an account or use a feature, including your email address, display name, career profile, target role, opportunities, documents, CV content, HR or recruiter messages, interview answers, job descriptions, notes, and other career content you choose to submit. We also receive a Firebase user identifier from authentication, subscription and entitlement information from Apple, and limited app usage, crash, device, and performance diagnostics from the app and its infrastructure.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate your account, store and display content you create, provide opportunity tracking and reminders, generate the AI feature you request, maintain AI and interview history when the feature calls for it, verify subscriptions, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, secure the service, and improve app reliability. We do not sell personal data or use user-provided career content for third-party advertising.

AI processing and third-party sharing

CareerOS AI uses the Gemini API provided by Google LLC as its third-party AI service. Before any AI feature sends content, the app displays a just-in-time disclosure and asks for your permission. If you do not grant permission, the app does not send your content to Gemini and that AI feature will not run.

Depending on the feature you choose, the data sent through our Firebase/Google Cloud backend to the Google Gemini API may include the CV text or PDF you select, HR or recruiter messages, interview questions and answers, target role, job description, opportunity context, career profile preferences, and recent messages needed to continue an interview practice conversation. Only content relevant to the result you request is included. Your Firebase user ID is used by our backend for authentication and access control and is not intentionally included in the prompt sent to Gemini.

Google processes this content to generate the requested analysis, draft, CV assessment, interview plan, question, feedback, or coaching response. Google LLC is required to handle data under its applicable service terms, privacy commitments, and security safeguards. We use service-provider protections intended to provide the same or equivalent protection required by this policy and applicable law. Your AI permission choices

Your AI data-sharing permission is stored for your signed-in account on the device. You can decline without sending data. You can later withdraw permission in CareerOS AI under Profile > Settings > AI Data Sharing. After withdrawal, new AI requests will not send CVs, messages, interview content, or other personal content to Gemini unless you grant permission again. Withdrawing permission does not retroactively remove results already saved to your account; you can delete saved content or your account using the controls described below.

Payments and subscriptions

Premium and Ultra Premium subscriptions are processed through Apple App Store systems. We use purchase and entitlement information to unlock subscription features and verify active access.

Analytics and diagnostics

We may collect privacy-conscious usage and diagnostic events such as feature usage, plan type, error category, and app performance signals to improve reliability and product quality. We do not intentionally include CV text, HR messages, interview answers, notes, or company-specific content in analytics event parameters.

Data storage

User data is stored under the authenticated user's account and scoped by user ID. We use Google Firebase services such as Authentication, Firestore, Functions, Remote Config, Analytics, Crashlytics, and related Google Cloud infrastructure to operate and secure the app. AI input is transmitted when you request an AI feature. A CV PDF is processed for the requested analysis and is not stored as the original PDF by default; a report is saved only when the feature or your explicit save action requests it.

Retention and deletion

Account and user-created content is retained while your account is active or as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse. You can delete individual supported items in the app and can request account deletion from Profile > Settings. Account deletion removes the account and user-scoped backend data through our deletion process, subject to limited backups or records that must be retained by law.

Data control

You can manage career profile details, withdraw AI data-sharing permission, and start account deletion from the app's settings screen. You may also contact support for access, correction, deletion, or other privacy questions.

Tracking

CareerOS AI is not intended to track users across third-party apps and websites for advertising purposes.

Children

CareerOS AI is designed for career preparation and is not directed to children.
